Incorporating Audio Interviews into a Power Point Presentation
I developed a Power Point presentation using digital audio interviews. Russell Medeiros, a community activist in Del Paso Heights, explained socioeconomic problems his community faces and efforts to improve opportunities there. Photos for the presentation included alleyways where drug use and prostitution had been occurring, and photos of community agencies that promote positive changes. The presentation also included interviews with artists in a live-work housing development, showing new socioeconomic development in Del Paso Heights.
This audio Power Point presentation was made possible through the help of Raymond Pina who taught me to use the program Audacity to incorporate sound clips from the interviews. Presentation viewers can hear voices and sounds from the community, making the problems and solutions presented more immediate and real. The final product has already proven useful in my course EDTE 150 Urban Education, allowing students to examine schooling within local socioeconomic conditions.
Download a copy of the powerpoint presentation. (you will need to download the entire package an extract it to play it, this is a large file so be patient.)
